The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow with a joint appointment in the Department of Comparative Literature and the Asian Studies Program.

Research specialization in Chinese literature and culture in a comparative context. One-year appointment for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. Teaching one course per semester. Ph.D. in hand by start of appointment and native or near-native fluency in Chinese required; relevant teaching experience preferred. We are especially interested in (but not limited to) applicants whose research project would contribute to an initiative on “Being Humans” (http://iah.psu.edu/) and who may thereby also be eligible for appointment as a Fellow in Penn State’s Institute for the Arts and Humanities.

Applications received by January 15, 2012, will be given full consideration, though applications may continue to be considered until the search is concluded. Please send letter of application, c.v., and names of 3 referees to www.la.psu.edu/facultysearch/ to apply. Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity and the diversity of its workforce.
